Development of software for the management of logs

IQ Real Estate GmbH offers services in the real estate sector. These included project control, real estate consulting, consulting and management services as well as project development.

The activities require intensive communication with different groups of people. All points discussed are recorded and followed up in follow-up meetings. In the past, Excel files were used for this purpose with the following disadvantages:

• An Excel file can only be edited by one person at a time.
• It is not possible to see which person has made which changes.
• No versioning is available.
• Filtering and evaluating individual data requires a lot of effort.

At IQ Real Estate, the desire arose to commission individual software from TriniDat Software-Entwicklung GmbH to manage the logs. The development was carried out in close cooperation and coordination with IQ Real Estate.

The protocol management was developed by TriniDat Software-Entwicklung GmbH as a web application, so that the software can be used, for example, on-site at the customer’s premises via an iPad. The development was carried out agilely according to the Kanban methodology by a project team consisting of a project manager and two programmers. In weekly meetings, the results of the previous week were reviewed and the goals for the coming week were set in the form of sprint planning. The agile approach enabled the software to be tailored precisely to IQ Real Estate’s requirements and ideas.

The result is a software with the following functions:

• Management of projects
• Compilation of groups of people for projects
• Scheduling of meetings
• Management of a list of open items
• Assigning tasks
• Commenting possibility for all participants of a meeting.
  Automatic sending of minutes to all participants.
